Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness can affect every area of your life, your body, emotions, relationships, and sense of identity. Many people with chronic illness experience anxiety, grief, frustration, or isolation as they navigate ongoing symptoms, medical appointments, and changes in daily functioning. Therapy can be a supportive space to process these experiences and reconnect with a sense of stability and self-compassion.

I work with individuals who are living with chronic illness, invisible illness, autoimmune conditions, and long-term health challenges. Chronic illness often brings layers of emotional impact that are not always acknowledged in medical settings. Together, we can explore how your health experiences have shaped your life and develop ways to cope with the uncertainty, loss, and stress that may come with ongoing health concerns.

In our work together, we may focus on:

  • Processing the emotional impact of diagnosis or long-term symptoms

  • Navigating grief related to changes in identity, abilities, or lifestyle

  • Reducing anxiety related to health, flare-ups, or medical uncertainty

  • Building a compassionate relationship with your body

  • Developing tools for managing stress and nervous system overwhelm

  • Strengthening communication with loved ones and medical providers

My approach integrates body-based and trauma-informed therapies such as Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR. Chronic illness often places the nervous system under prolonged stress, and these approaches can help support regulation, resilience, and a deeper sense of safety within your body.

You don’t have to navigate chronic illness alone. Therapy can be a place where your experiences are taken seriously, where the complexity of living in a changing body is honored, and where you can develop tools to support both your emotional wellbeing and your relationship with yourself.

If you’re living with chronic illness and looking for support, I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.

Are you ready to take the courageous step toward healing?
